If you have an inline engine, double it into a V and tell us the specs. If you have a V engine, half it into an inline and do the same? Why? Because it’s Sunday and you’re bored!

Half of my Corvette engine would give me a 175 cu.-in. (2.9L) inline four making a whopping 175 horsepower! Sounds like a mutant Iron Duke.

So like the Ford truck v6 but with more cylinders.

This doesn’t look so bad, but sub-250HP for any V8 is terrible. The already low mileage would probably take a hit, too. Guess I’d be malaise era spec then lol.

On the other hand the 308's 1.6 inline 4 diesel engine would give a twin turbocharged 3.2L V8, 32 valve diesel, with 240 hp and 600 Nm(442 lb-ft) of torque, so that engine would have roughly all the torques.

The first will be a DOHC all aluminum Atkinson cycle 3.6 V8 with intake VVT, 192 HP, and 210 lb-ft. However, it’d have 40% thermal efficiency, so it has that going for it. And, it’d also have double the electric motors and presumably battery, so it’d have 242 system horsepower.

The other will be a DOHC iron block, aluminum head 3.7 (it rounds up to 3.7, not 3.6) V8 with 280 HP and 238 lb-ft.

My 280Zx would be powered by a 5.6 liter, twin cam v12, it would be so badass, 300hp, 360 foot pounds, double the signature L28 sound,  But the heads are not cross flow so it would have an intake manifold and exhaust manifold in the V between the two cylinder banks

Not always - a 180º V and a boxer are actually two different things.

Externally, they look identical, and some “boxers” are actually 180º Vs (I’m looking at you, Ferrari and the Porsche 917), but the crankshafts are different between a boxer and a 180º V. A boxer has pairs of pistons reaching TDC and BDC at the same time, whereas a 180º V has one piston reaching TDC when the other is reaching BDC.

That’s why I said flat, not boxer. Boxer is a form of flat.

If we take the engine from my DD, we’re looking at a 5.0 V8 of 314 HP - ho hum. But I’d prefer an I8 instead just to be different.

Now if we took my ex’s car we’d have a 7.2l W12 with 600 HP. That sounds pretty good to me. Or we could just get weird and make a 150 HP VR3. They made a 150 HP VR5, so why not lop off two more cylinders yet have the same output? Think of all the small cars that could fit into...

Or we just go crazy with the vehicle I wish I had. A 305 HP twin-turbo VR6 does seem a little low compared to what VW actually produced, so how about we make a 1,120 HP 12L quad-turbo W24?

Nah, I still prefer to double. I get a 10.6L X16 with 600hp.

I’ve got an inline 6 that supposedly makes 180hp and is a 3.2 liter. So that gives me a v12 that has 360hp and is a 6.4 liter, that would be interesting.

The MX6 would have a 1.25L 3cyl making barely 100hp and 110 Nm. Not ideal..... I feel like this game kinda screws over those of us with small displacement V engines. Although my 900kg Hyundai Accent would have a 3.0L V8 making 180hp but probably revving to the moon. Dad’s Peugeot 207 GTi would be fun, a 3.2L TTV8 making 350hp and over 500Nm of torque!

Hals my LS2 would mean a 3.0L inline 4. So 385 rwhp, so then I’d have 192.5 rwhp.

2.6l 110hp V8, technically if I upgraded cam and injectors it’d be 150.
